Quantitative studies involve the numerical analysis of variables within a research study. In Quantitative studies, variables can be mathematically and statistically analyzed to explain certain theories and their correlations (Yilmaz, 2013). A correlational design is important in quantitative program evaluations because the variables presented will be measured on a scale. It would be appropriate to calculate the correlation coefficients to get a measurement of the linear association between the variables in the study. The statistical technique used in a study depends on several factors such as the number of variables being studied, the types of variables, and the nature of the overall evaluation. For example, if there are two or more variables that are quantitative and evaluating a relationship or prediction, then a multiple regression could be used. A multiple regression is similar to a linear analysis and it is used to predict the values of a variable based on two or more other variables in the study (Norusis, 2010).
