Due: Wednesday, April 12, 2016 at 2:30 PM. Do not arrive late and expect to turn in homework. No exceptions.
Note: Your work must be fully justified to receive full credit. Presentation, neatness, and organi- zation also count toward the grade.
Instructions: For each of WebAssign Homework 12 questions 14-20 and 22-25 (eleven questions in total), you will be drawing the corresponding graphs.
1. After clicking show key, print each of your WebAssign Homework 12 Questions on a separate sheet of paper with your graded responses. For this you will need to take a screen shot to print only that one question and to show your responses. You can resize the display with the zoom. You might not be able to adjust the zoom so that the entire set of responses to questions 14 and 17 are visible on one page and readable. However, you should be able to print each of Exercises (a), (b), and (c) on one page. If you wish you may write down this information on separate paper. Please see the example.
2. Sketch the graph of that function. Please see the Sample Homework.
(a) Your graph should be on a separate paper, all by itself. Make it large and readable, at least use 1/2 of the page. Prominently label this graph and the associated screen shot as WAQ #X. WAQ stands for WebAssign Question, so the first one would be WAQ #14. Also, write out what function you are graphing at the top of the page, e.g., f(x) = ln (x4 + 27) as in the sample.
(b) Be sure to label your local maximum points, local minimum points, regions of concavity, inflection points, and x and y-intercepts. Write down the function values for each of these points below your graph, e.g., the local minimum value for f(x) = ln (x4 + 27) is f(0) = ln(27) ≈ 3.3. You may need to estimate your x-intercepts. For example, using the intermediate value theorem and your calculator, you should be able to determine between which integers it crosses the x-axis, even if you cant easily solve for the exact x value. Finally be sure to include any vertical or horizontal asymptotes.
3. Your homework should be submitted in increasing order of the WAQ numbers. The screen shot should be the first page(s) and the graph on a separate sheet of paper immediate following that. Sloppy, unorganized homework with difficult to locate or read work will not be graded.
