For this portion of the paper, you will revise and edit the visual analysis submitted earlier. This means that you should address any problematic sentences, grammar issues, etc. that were indicated in the grading of your first paper.
You will ADD ON to the paper that you have already started, and integrate it into the final product. You are to not only visually describe and analyze this piece; you should also include a historical background and explanation of how this work of art relates to our discussions and also its art historical importance. You will also have to compare this piece to at least one other work of art that you have come across in your textbook or in our lectures. You should be able to not only compare, but also contrast the two pieces. This object should be similar in some ways to the work of art you chose from the museum (if you chose a ceramic pot at the museum, choose a ceramic pot from your text OR if you choose a piece that shows the afterlife, you might choose a piece from another culture that shows the afterlife), but should also allow you to complete a discussion of stylistic similarities and differences between the works .In essence, you are completing a larger and more complete version of an exam-style comparison essay.
This paper must include at least 4 bibliographical sources, one of which may be your textbook. Only scholarly websites will be allowed as acceptable references. Your paper should also include images of the works of art that you discuss, including a printed photograph of the work as you saw it in the Museum.
Papers should follow the Chicago Style for writing.
