Program planning is a process in which an intervention is planned to help meet the needs of a specific group of people. Our program will be based on the elderly to help prevent them from fall injuries, from the ages of 60-75 both male and female. For this program to go through we have set up training for caregivers to educate them on the proper procedures to complete this task. With the proper planning caregivers will receive the proper information needed to help assist patients. They will also be educated on information to give to the patients to prevent fall injuries to help make their lifestyle safer. A survey will be given to the elderly in each community to help give professionals a target on were this program is mostly needed. Through the process of this program patients will not only get the help and information they need for safe living, but options of proper equipment that can help prevent them from falling injuries.
With this program the elderly from the ages 60-75 will be properly informed with the material needed to help prevent them from fall injury. Our goal as an organization is to allow the elderly to be able to live on their own, and in some cases how they can prepare themselves for falling incidents. Not only will patients have caregivers to assist them they will also be provided with proper information to prevent falling and beneficial equipment that will keep them on their feet. As stated before a survey will be given to residents through the ages of 60-75 to see who actually want and need the help of this program. According to a senior health and wellness blog, when an elderly person falls, their hospital sitting is usually longer than those of elderly patients who are admitted for other reasons. Annually falls are reported by one third of all people over the age 65. Falls are also a leading cause of death from injury among people at the age of 65 or older. The most profound falling is the loss of functioning associated with independent living (communtiy, 2012). With proper care and given information this program can help the elderly from fall injuries. This program will also help out the elderly who don’t live close to where they can get the help needed or to those that live on their own.
This program will not only help the elderly, but we will also educate caregivers with proper procedures to develop a safer lifestyle. It’s always good to know information that can improve your health. This program provides everything needed to prevent fall injuries. With the plan on how to educate the caregivers to how the caregivers can educate and help the elderly, show a positive outcome on this program. With the proper program planning this program should succeed in helping the elderly from fall injuries.
