Interpersonal communication
Introduction
Attention getter: Have you ever seen a situation where a person is not talking with word of mouth, but is communicating with the eyes?
Relevance: I am a witness to a communication that took place and apart from witnessing with my naked eyes; I also have a copy of the communication which is both visual and audio.
Thesis: in a communication, one does not only need to listen, but he can also look at the speaker, and try to perceive what he or she is thinking and if possible, respond according to feelings of the speaker.
The Bible outlines clear examples of interpersonal relationships, and tells us on how we should live with each other.
Preview of main points; the main points will be broken down into three major points which explain the phenomena I watched.
Speech body
Main point one: I observed a roommate and his girlfriend communicate. The two did not talk much, but they used body language instead much. The two were having a romantic relationship from the way they were behaving.
Transition; having talked about the communication, let us look at the real way they were communicating.
Main point two: the two could look each other straight on the eyes and I witnessed that they were communicated. This is because after looking at each other’s eyes, they could suddenly kiss, and it is as if they were talking; give me a kiss!
They also held hands, and they also used nodding of the head as well as shaking most of the time instead of talking, especially by the girl.
Transition: Let us move away from the sign language and talk about distance between them
Main point three: the distance between them could be described as zero inches! They were so close to each other and their bodies were touching even.
Transition: having described the communication and the phenomenon, let us move to the conclusion
Conclusion
Restate thesis: it is true that people do not only have to talk to each other in order to communicate.
Restate summary: non-verbal communication is one way of communication, and it is as effective in communicating meaning just like verbal communication.
Final persuasive appeal: I appreciate for the time you have given to me, thanks once more.
