Sharing Candy Bars

Scheduling:

· I would change math time for Ella

· Would break time into blocks.

· 1 day to finish rather than 1.5 hours

Settings:

· Have her work outside/another classroom one on one with aid as the noise level too high at the beginning of the day.

· Then during group work have her work one on one with Teacher.

Materials:

· Extra paper

· Tactile objects : blocks or mathematical cubes

· Individual laptop for to follow assignment

· Given extra copy of assignment instructions in larger font.

Instruction:

· Give her less difficult assignments

· Assign one difficult for weekend work with parent

· Change worksheet completion.

· Assign one student for group work.

· Use shorter steps for assignments

· Give more examples with breakdown of each problem.

Grading/Testing:

· Extended testing time

· Breaks during testing time

· Quiet setting for test taking

· Allow oral reading for question on the test

· Grade on different rubric

Alain was not able to implement these changes with Ella has our District has restrictions and they need to be followed, but I will take them into consideration when looking at Ella’s assignments and how to make her more successful. CMH
