3. Rationalism and Empiricism are rival trends in philosophy that have great disagreements on the existence of God. Develop and defend a thesis about the existence of God by

engaging the ongoing philosophical discourse.

4. Descartes is often considered the father of modern philosophy, at least in part, because of his turn toward subjectivity. By tracing the notion of subjectivity through modern and

post-modern philosophy, develop and defend a thesis that makes an argument about how

one should understand the role of subjectivity in regard to truth.

5. Is Kant more of a rationalist or an empiricist? Use the text and readings to defend your thesis.
