Criteria for Assessment

Content:

- Clarity of the abstract;

- Clear introduction that introduces and defines the chosen topic;

- Presentation, structure and organisation (academic content)

- Meets the requirements of the assessment brief;

- The range and relevance of the sources used in the research of the topic;

- Relevant and appropriate references used to support claims and arguments made;

- Structure and critical analysis of the issues;

- Clarity of the conclusion and recommendations (ability to summarise and illuminate the issues presented).

Assessment will take the form ofan Essay

Scholarly (style) Guidelines

The marker will take into account:

- Logical flow and organisation

- Student's understanding of the topic area

- Ability to reflect on the process

- Grammar, spelling and punctuation

- Referencing (using the Harvard System, following UAD guidelines issued to each student)

Presentation of work to include:

- Student registration number (NOT name)

- Title page, pages numbered

- Word-processed using double line spacing, typeset Times New Roman size 12
