To a relative from a different generation than you, ask them to complete the following sentence: Kids these days ____________________.
The object here is to gain insight into how parents/or relatives in an older generation think about Millennials (likely your generation). You might also ask grandparents to tell you about your parents’ generation, too. I do not care what generation you get this information from (as long as it is not your generation). Write a reflection about this conversation (minimum two paragraphs, maximum two pages).
Things to think about:
· Was the opinion about millennials (those age 18-35) negative or positive? If your conversation was about generation z (those younger than 18), that is okay too- either will work!
· Did you agree with what was said about “kids these days?”
· Based on this conversation, what did you learn?
Note: I am pretty open about this assignment- for full credit, be sure to write at least two paragraphs and engage in a conversation with an adult who is older than you to better understand intergenerational relationships within families (although if you do not have family to speak to, you can talk to friends who are older).
