You will then need to complete your grid. Note the four quadrants are as follows:

● Open area – What is known by the person about himself/herself and is also known

by others.

● Blind area, or ‘blind spot’ – What is unknown by the person about himself/herself

but which others know. This can be simple information, or can involve deep issues.

For example, feelings of inadequacy or unworthiness which are not directly

accepted by an individual, and yet can be seen by others.

● Hidden area – What the person knows about himself/herself that others do not.

● Unknown area – What is unknown by the person about himself/herself and is also

unknown by others. This may include unknown leadership ability through to

unknown negative reactions when placed under stress.
