DBM-405 COURSE PROJECT WEEK 1
Laboratory Report DeVry University College of Engineering and Information Sciences
Course Number: DBM405A
Professor: Panja
Laboratory Number: 1
Laboratory Title: SQL Review
Submittal Date: 3/5/2017
Note: There is no limit on how much information you will enter under the three topics below. It is important to be clear and complete with your comments. Like a scientist, you are documenting your progress in this week’s lab experiment.
Objectives: In your own words what was this lab designed to accomplish? What was its purpose?
The lab is design to help us learn to create a database, create tables and then load or insert data into the tables using the specific keywords.
It also gives us an exposure in using the command as MySQL is command based and all the work done in creating the database is by using commands.
Results: Discuss the steps you used to complete your lab. Were you successful? What did you learn? What were the results? Explain what you did to accomplish each step. You can include screen shots, code listings, etc. to clearly explain what you did.
The first thing is installing MySQL into my computer which gave me a very good experience and knowledge on how to install and configure it. I was very successful in installing and configuring all the MySQL setups and learnt all the different ways of installing and configuring. I also learnt how to create a database, tables and inserting data into them.
Creating Tables Screen Shots
1. Creating Database
2. Creating Tables
Conclusions: After completing this lab, in your own words, what conclusions can you draw from this experience?
It was very interesting to learn how to install and configure MySQL in my computer. I also learnt how to create a database and the numerous commands used in MySQL as it is command based. I also learned how to create tables and insert bulk data from a local file. I loved the lab as it was very interesting.
