4-6 pages double-spaced Business Ethic Paper!!!
In this paper, I will expect you to demonstrate mastery of the article(s) you choose to write about. I will also expect you to critique or defend the article(s) while both being fair to the article(s) and crafting a coherent argument.
I will be grading your paper based on four things:
1. Accuracy: Do you describe the views of the company and the theorist(s) correctly?
2. Thoroughness: Do you answer all parts of the question? Do you answer the questions in sufficient detail and draw the connections between the articles and your own thinking that you were asked to draw? Do you refer to the course readings to back up your ideas?
3. Clarity: Is your paper written in a way that makes sense?
4. Argument: Is your main claim clear? Do you back up this claim with reasons and evidence?
Response answers all parts of the question, describes the authors’ views correctly and clearly, demonstrates thought and effort in supplying details and drawing connections, and makes a clear claim that is backed up with reasons and evidence.
Outside sources and citations:
You may use secondary sources to help you formulate critiques of course readings, but these sources should be academic (i.e. from peer-reviewed journals or credible news publications, not Wikipedia or personal websites). You can access peer-reviewed academic journals through the DePaul library website. Good databases to use include JSTOR and the Philosopher’s Index. If you need help locating these, feel free to talk to me. Secondary sources should be used to support your argument, not to make the argument for you. You are not required to use secondary sources.
All sources should be cited with both in-text citations (putting the author and page number in parentheses after quoting or paraphrasing) and a bibliography.
Instructions:
Write a 4-6 page (double-spaced) paper in which you do one of the following:
a) Explain the main argument made in one of the articles we read in Unit 2 or Unit 3, and craft your own argument either against it or in support of it.
b) Find an article from a reputable source (i.e. a peer-reviewed academic journal, major newspaper, or a respected business magazine) that expresses a different view than an article we read in Unit 2 or Unit 3. Explain both arguments and craft your own argument for why one view is better.
