AT&T, Inc. is one of the world’s largest providers of diversified telecommunications services. The company and its subsidiaries offers its communications, digital entertainment services and products to consumers in the U.S., Mexico and Latin America, as well as to businesses and other providers of telecommunications services worldwide. AT&T also owns and operates three regional sports networks. Services & products include wireless communications, data/broadband and internet services, digital video services, local & long-distance telephone services, telecommunications equipment, managed networking and wholesale services. The company operates through four business segments: business solutions, entertainment, consumer mobility and international. Business solutions provides services to businesses, governmental & wholesale customers and individual subscribers who purchase wireless services through employer- sponsored plans. These solutions include virtual private networks, Ethernet-related products, broadband and data/voice products. The entertainment segment provides video, internet and voice communication services to residential customers in the U.S. The consumer mobility business provides nationwide wireless service to consumers, as well as to wireless wholesale & resale subscribers located in the U.S. The international business segment provides entertainment services in Latin America and wireless services in Mexico. Via AT&T Mobility LLC, the firm covers all major metropolitan areas and more than 300 million people with its LTE technology. It also provides 4G coverage using HSPA+ technology. In 2015, the firm acquired GSF Telecom Holdings SAPI de CV, Iusacell, Nextel Mexico and DIRECTV. In October 2016, AT&T agreed to acquire Time Warner, Inc. The transaction is still to undergo regulatory approval.
