SELECTED CHAPTER PRESENTATION
Purpose:
The purpose of this project is to expose you to a unique facet of technology that couldn't be
covered in class. This project will be completed in lieu of a final exam.
Description:
You will be required to create and compose a presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint® that
explains the contents and applications of one of the chapters in your text that was not covered in
class. The presentation is to be between five and seven minutes in duration. The chapters you
may choose from are chapters 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17.
If none of the above chapters interest you, then you may have another topic approved by me.
However, in addition to the requirements outlined in the project rubric, 5 references will be
required.
Requirements:
The presentation must include the following:
General description of the topic/technology
Minimum of three key concepts of the topic/technology
Minimum of three applications and examples of the technology/topic
Descriptions of how the topic/technology affects environment, economy, politics, and
society/culture
Conclusion
The details of these requirements are available in the rubric for this project below.
Submission and Deliverable Details:
You will be required to vocally narrate the entire presentation using a microphone. You will then
submit the presentation with the audio accompanying the presentation as one PowerPoint® file
here. If you don't know how to vocally narrate a PowerPoint® presentation, then google it and
figure it out. I just did this and found a tutorial within seconds.
When giving presentations, you are never to just simply read the PowerPoint® slides. The
persons viewing your presentation know how to read. You are to elaborate upon the slides
presented.
