Procedure:
We picked four clean and dry beakers and determine their mass. Then we measured the following volumes of water in beakers. Two glassware each with 50ml, one with 125ml and the last one with 125ml of water. Then we record the initial and the final readings of the burette. We determined and recorded the mass of each glassware inserted in the different water volumes. Then we calculated and recorded the density of the glassware using the volumes and mass as recorded in the procedures above. We repeat the process (two trial for each) with each piece of glassware.
Discussion:
The experiment was carried out to standardize measurements by the use of glassware. It was done by evaluating the mass of water that was contained in the glassware. The density of the water was also calculated and was later used to get the volume and the mass.
The experiment will bring out the quantitative investigation showing cylinder measuring, glassware volumes, balances and the statistics after the experiment is done.
A table was drawn and filled. In the whole experiment accurateness and precision are very important so that in all the trials the difference will be minimal. Accuracy is the level at which measurements of quantities are close to each other while precision is how repeated measurements remain the same if the conditions were not altered.
In the 50ml beaker the mass of glassware drops from 112.599g first trial to 109.217g in trial two, in the 50ml Bv it increases from 73.238g to 73.664g in trial two. For the 10 ml glassware mass drops by some grams from 40.927 first trial to 40.50 in the trial 2. Lastly in the 125ml the mass of glassware drops from 155.14g in the first trial to 155.069 in the second trial.
From our definition of accuracy and preciseness our results are precise but not very accurate. This is because of the pressure changes from the environment around. Our results are precise because for all records the results are the same.
