Description of Assignment:
Task 1: Write a 650 word formal report for Coventry University College (CUC) on one of the following topics of research
· Levels of awareness of CUC among population in and around Coventry OR · Student and staff’s opinion on the current Tuition Fees charges.
Your report should include the following:
· Terms of Reference: To determine levels of awareness of CUC amongst the population of Coventry. Your report will cover: · Awareness of the existence of CUC · Awareness of the courses offered by CUC OR · Students and staff‘s opinion on the current tuition fees both for and against.
You may rewrite the terms of reference in your own words in order to cover the scope of your research. · Methods/ Procedure: You need to explain how you will gather data relevant to your terms of reference. This might include: · questionnaires: open/closed; · commentary on CUC marketing and promotional material · commentary on the courses offered by CUC You will need to decide on the size of your interview/questionnaire sample. This should be consistent with the time you have to complete the unit and the word limit of the report. · Findings/ Discussions: How will you quantify your interview/questionnaire returns? How will you represent data (charts, graphs, tables)? You will need to explain what your research means: are potential students aware of CUC and the courses it offers? If so, how does your research prove this? If not, why not? You will need to consider the limits of what your research can prove, including an assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of your methods. Your report must include at least one original or correctly cited chart graph or table which justifies your conclusion(s) and recommendation(s).
· Conclusion: Summarise what your research work has found.
· Recommendations: what do you think should happen as a result of your findings?
· References/Bibliography: List the sources of your information.
· Appendices: Any extra documents referred to in the text, that you need to attach.
For this unit you will produce: (All of the following will be assessed towards your final grade for the unit) · A 750 word practical report with four sections: Terms of Reference, Methods, Findings and Conclusion. The word limit tolerance is 650 - 850. Work cannot be graded if it falls outside this range – see AC3.1. Your report should be submitted on Moodle Turnit-in before 11.55pm on 18th November 2016.
