My home is made of red brick. It has a wooden roof that is red in color. The shape of the house is circular and it is symmetrical. However, the balcony is spherical in shape and the spacing is of a symbolic perspective. The roof is highly raised and it is pointed. The floor of my home is cemented and a woolen carpet is placed on top. The major attraction in my home is the painting at the gate of a dove. It is three-dimensional image and is white in color. The lines used in drawing the bird are thick and straight. The plausibility of the image is excellent, as it resembles a real dove. The bird has a fine texture and its hue is excellent.

Dennis Sporre describes art as human vision that is expressed in a particular medium and shared with others. Before reading the chapter, I expected a complex definition of artwork- different definitions of the shape, materials and form of design. Besides, I expected numerous small images explaining the aspects of art. To me shape can be described as triangular, oval rectangular, circular or spherical. However, after reading the chapter I discovered that shape is described as geometric, organic, rectilinear, biomorphic and amorphous. Some houses have positive shapes while others have negative shapes. Besides, Dennis described many aspects of architecture using few images giving a good understanding. My biggest discovery was that shape might also be described in terms of figure and ground relationship. The biggest question I have for Denis is what kinds of books and research projects does he engage in to provide such excellent and detailed information about architecture? My last question to him is how does artwork add value to his life?
