Introduction

In 2009 the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH Act) legislation was ratified by president Obama and enforced which culminated in the implementation of electronic health records (EHR) in the United States. The Act was enacted in a bid improve the use of health information technology in order to boost healthcare outcomes as well as to improve healthcare system performance. This was to reinforce and back the as the American renewal and reinvestment act of 2009 economic stimulus bill. The health act provided that health providers would be granted financial incentives based on how they demonstrate appropriate use of electronic health records. An electronic health records system is defined as a medical written communication of cases, exams, results and prescription ordering in addition to support for decision-making that includes treatment guidelines. This prompted various health care institutions and clinics to adopt the use and proper management of electronic records.

In-House Versus Outsourcing Electronic Health Records

Institutions and clinics have adopted and majored in in house electronic health systems until the enactment of the clinic health act and the stimulus Act. The in house systems entails a practice of appointing person and creating systems that are solely and comprehensively used by them in the recording and documentation as well as storage of health records. However the outsourcing of electronic health records was preferred and later adopted for a myriad of reasons in a bid to implement the various pieces of legislation above mentioned. The EHR incorporates different segments that take an interest to make the establishment of the best possible blue prosperity document. Those areas may likewise be a piece of programming bundles, as a case, programmed expert interest access; blend with lab, radiology, and cardiology structures; an electronic document organization contraption; or select aides of activity. This will enable ease the management and manner of carrying our activities in a health organization that will ultimately benefit both the health providers and patients boosting the clientele numbers and growth of the local medical facilities. Outsourcing and alignment of electronic health records is generally beneficial for an organization.

Outsourcing electronic health records is therefore, based on the afore stated the most suitable of managing and storing and keeping proper track of health records for patients mainly because its cost effective, fast and less complex a reason why all health institutions should embrace it.
