It may be surprising to know that most entrepreneurs earn less than the average salaries of their peers in the work sector. In addition, entrepreneurs work longer hours due to the pressure of wanting to succeed. It is not surprising considering that many entrepreneurs underreport their earnings in order to avoid taxation.

Focusing on some key contributions to economics literature on entrepreneurship. We look at the rise in self-employment and attribute it to more and more families moving away from the traditional role and becoming more inventive. We then look at factors which encourages entrepreneurship such as inheritance, diversity and other economic factors. The final product is then compared to what defines success as an entrepreneur, is it monetary gains or creating valuable services or products?
