Every year we have at least one project by our school. This year we have decided to have the Library as our project we want to build a Two hundred capacity library that is well equipped with reading materials such as books, magazine journals and a few computers to help our students quench their thirst for education. We wish to have it constructed behind the laboratory. The project should be completed in the next eight months and fully equipped two months after that. We urge all stake holders to come aboard and give all they can to the success of this project as it will be a key infrastructural development in our school.
The first project goal of the project is that it will contribute to massive improvement of academics of the students. Reading materials will be more available and accessible and if students make proper use of them they will improve in their studies. The second goal is that the students will be able to be familiar with current affairs since we will have magazines and newspapers for them to read in the library. The other project goal is that the library will contribute to students learning the use of computers that is an important aspect in today’s world.
The objectives of the project are many but I will highlight a few. The first one is our school will be in a position to offer better education materials in the library than in the past. The library will enable us to have more materials for the students to read unlike in the past. The other objective is that with the library our school will to able to attract quality education workshops that will help the students in learning and having new experiences as they study. The other objective is to provide resourceful information to the students so as to enable them make good judgments and be in a position to think critically as they make conclusions.
The project’s customers will be the county government which is headed by the governor. He will aid us in the execution of the project for he sees the need to improve the infrastructure of our school. The other customer will be the local society around the school as they will participate in making the project successful by providing laborers. The project share holders are the students and teachers who will use the library as a resource centre to gather and collect information.
The project will start early next month whereby the foundation will be made on the site within the first week and construction will start immediately after. During the second month the walls of the building should be up already. In about nine months time the library should be ready for use shortly after the opening ceremony.
The project should be completed in duration of about seven or so months. There should to massive development of the building in about three months where visible evidence of work to be seen. Books and reading materials must be orders from various book stores across the country after having various quotations within the fourth month of the project. Bookshelves and tables must be made by the school carpenter before the sixth month of the project.
The projects estimated cost will be fifteen thousand U.S dollars. The key staffing resources include the people who will work in the library including the librarian and the library assistant, personnel in charge of the computers, the cleaners and the security team the contractor given the task will find workers from the local communities and other specialist to work with including engineers. Non staffing resources include the computers, books and other gadgets like the chairs.
The major challenge of the project will be to make sure that resources are proper made use of and there is no misuse of the funds by greedy persons involved by the construction of the project. This will be controlled by hiring competent auditors who will access the project’s use of funds after every month to see to it there is no wastage of funds.
