Topic 31

The reason for selecting this topic is that it is an interesting topic, which presents an opportunity to research on an issue, I can relate to and find a long viable solution. In addition, application of the positive reinforcement strategy to change a behavior is easy to apply and there are high chances of a positive outcome. According to Wood, Wood, and Boyd (2005), giving of prizes may result in the anticipated behavior or effect, however; the reward must motivate the person to develop the desired trait to be positively reinforced. Furthermore, the reinforcement process needs to be highly motivated to the individual. The positive reinforcement needs to be applied consistently in order to lead to the desired results, (Diedrich, 2010). The audience, in this case, may include fellow students, the instructor as well as the public since the paper will address the ways one can use positive reinforcement to change an undesired behavior.

Thesis: Most people struggle with the issue of procrastination especially when working on a long deadline. In order to achieve the desired result of completing projects, homework, and other activities on time, one can apply the theory of positive reinforcement to do away with the negative behavior of procrastination.

Topic 29

The reason for selecting how classical conditioning has produced a positive or negative emotional response is that the topic is interesting and educational. A research on the topic will provide an opportunity to discover the reason why one can, associate a certain song to a special meaning or finding a specific scent unpleasant because it creates or reminds of a negative experience. The second reason for choosing this topic is that it is important in learning capacities characteristic to human. According to McLeod (2014), two simple stimuli are connected to create a newly learned response in an animal or person. This aspect of the theory explains the reason why business organizations can utilize classical conditioning to influence consumer behavior. According to Pornpitakpan (2011), many adverts show the product together with pleasant stimuli once or severally with the intention of using the stimuli to induce a liking of the product. The audience addressed in this paper may include fellow students, the instructor as well as the public because most people can relate to the idea of classical conditioning producing a positive or negative emotional response.

Thesis: the theory of classical conditioning can explain some positive or negative emotional normally triggered by some images, songs, or even scents.

Topic 18

According to Barret (2002), amnesia can be caused by brain injury normally because of physical trauma, infection, disease, abuse of drugs and alcohol or vascular insufficiency. According to Wingfiled and Cronin-Golomb (2001), there are two types of amnesia and these include retrograde and anterograde amnesia. The audience, in this case, may include fellow students, the instructor as well as the public because the paper will address the comparison between the two types of amnesia.

Thesis: memory loss may result from bilateral damage to the limbic system of the brains, which plays the role of memory storage, processing as well as recall. Amnesia is the loss of memory and there are two types of amnesia retrograde and anterograde amnesia.
