4 pages research paper, history, MLA format
Final Project is a personal exploration of your favorite food. (Which is Fettuccini Chicken Alferedo). Look to Kurlansky and to some extent Wallach and Sandage for examples of where recipes come from and how they develop. Then explain how this recipe is American, because frankly you are making it and eating here in America. You will need to provide the recipe as well.
1,200 words, MLA format. At least 5 primary source evidence to support your idea.

I chose to write my final paper on fettucine alfredo, or more specifically, chicken alfredo. I have always loved chicken alfredo and didn’t know any history behind the dish until I started researching it for this paper. I was surprised to find that it has a storied history beginning in Italy and eventually reaching America. What we consider to be alfredo sauce is not typically eaten in Italy. In America chicken alfredo is a fettucine alfredo dish which has had chicken added to it. To make a fettucine alfredo you add butter or cream to parmesan cheese and it creates a thick sauce. But in Italy they believe that cream makes too thick of a sauce so you would be hard pressed to find this American style pasta in Italy. I’m going to explore the differences between the traditional Italian style dish and the American variant. I also plan to look at the class divide which popularized the cheap dish fettucine alfredo and how it eventually became a well-known popularized American dish.”

Make sure you include the pasta recipe and look into how in Italy the cheese is made locally so as to incorporate the same regional geographical and topical graphical conditions. In other words, all ingredients from the same local region. In America, it's Wisconsin cheese and flour from god knows where to make the pasta. Why did Americans add chickens (who added the mushrooms?) and does this recipe have to do with your family in any way? Bottom of Form”
