As addressed, the major security problem that needs to be solved is the issue about mal-presentation. This has always been used maliciously by hackers in the cyber space where they track down activities of various online platforms and credit cards. By snooping around a user’s activity online, they get a baseline in which they exploit and thus with the inadequate security protocol in various systems and online platforms, they get to impersonate the victim and thus perpetrate the crime; cybercrime.
As from my product, I plan to incorporate various layers of security. This I envision by adding several authentication systems along these web based applications such as banking, purchasing and all other transactions possible. As aforementioned, the ability to track the user’s activity across various devices would be improved. Of course privacy is a major priority and thus through my product that would ensure complete protection.
Yet again, as far as outputs are concerned, my product entails the adoption of 2-step verification system. This is entails the use of more than one means of accessing one’s account in that there are additional steps to be followed in order to gain access into the desired platform, (Aguilar, 2015). As every device has its unique identification, the IP address, every login is ideally different from another. This system therefore takes care of the possibility that one may be logged in more than on device per time.
As already identified, the 2 step verification system will involve the use of two platforms for verification namely the web based business system platform and a mobile phone. As part of this system, the required parameters are basically the full details of the user which are:
· Username
· Password
· Personal information (date of birth, sex, residence)
· Security question
· Telephone number
· Optional/additional email address
With the aforementioned details, it therefore becomes impregnable to acquire all the above information even for a hacker. However, with the telephone offering a One-Time-Password (OTP), security is heightened, ("What is one-time password (OTP)? - Definition from WhatIs.com", 2016). This therefore provides the output that can therefore be used to nullify all other logins from any other device, revoking access to the web based platform and thereafter creating a unique log on time frame that lasts for a short period of time.
