Introduction

Bruce and Seirian are dedicated to narrating an important phenomenon that the world should be worried about. They educate on the super intelligence of technology which is anticipated in the current generation. They are all worried about what will happen if this technology surpasses human understanding and cannot be put under control. It is undeniable that there are immense benefits of such inventions and that producing countries might immensely benefit from such creations, but the most disturbing facts are that these scientists have not done tremendous research to mitigate these computers in case they bring about the downfall of man in the long run (Kurzweil, 1999). Both writers have communicated their facts to their audience in the most creative and exciting manner. However, it is notable that one is effective to the other. In this case, this paper finds “synthetic world” by Seirian article being more efficiently communicated than “singularity” article by Bruce.

Who are writing about What We Should Be Worried About?

Seirian is keen to educate on how synthetic biology is essential because it enables scientists to produce awesome creations, for example, making yeast to power cars, and cloning used for therapeutic activities. However, he warns that consequences may be witnessed in the world soon if care is not taken in terms of how to mitigate the activities of bio-computers which might turn the natural world naturally un natural (Richard, 2008). Bruce in singularity argues that the present technology might develop to become sophisticated and surpass human intelligence and therefore bring about the extinction of people.

Information about what is important to have in an effective essay.

According to Soles & Lawler ,( 2005), so as to develop an effective essay, one needs to consider the type of content they are to communicate, how they communicate it, the kind of audience they are communicating to and the structure they want to use and the mechanics. Once they are all observed, they can help writers effectively explain their ideas to their audience in a more effective, intriguing and organized way.

Observing content: according to (Kisting, 2007)content is simply the ideas which the author plans to put across so that they can be communicated to the audience. Content in the case of the two articles has been delivered through discussions and including detail about the topic. However, Seirian gets into more detail and makes it more specific, unlike Bruce who is superficial and general making the article annoying. Both writers have supported their arguments with examples but Seirian uses more real life examples and incidents which the audience can easily relate than Bruce. Seirian uses an easy to understand language, an authoritative tone, well-chosen words, well organized and flow of ideas. The authors identified an audience who are not careful of how technology will bring human existence to doom. So as to convince this arrogant and ignorant people, and they use impressively reasoned our facts and observations to pass on this critical information. The facts the writers include in these articles have immense evidence and gives the audience limited ground to for counterarguments but these has been seen more in the synthetic world article unlike in Singularity article.

The structure on the other hand is also important when developing an impressive essay because so as to be understood, content needs to be properly be organized so that the audience can easily follow. For examples, many essays flow from an introduction, to the body and then conclusion. The article by Bruce on singularity has not been well organized even though it starts with a catchy sentiment of what is there about life that the reader should be concerned and careful to know about. The audience may first not understand the immense creativity the author uses in this article because at. First, it is challenging for them to appreciate what the main subject of the article is fully but the impressive framework makes it easy for the reader to fulfill their expectations. This is in contrast with Seirian’s article because right from the beginning, the audience gets to understand the writer’s sentiments which are well addressed and easy to figure out throughout the article. It becomes even more interesting when he uses many examples to explain a phenomenon (Kurzweil, 1999).

Both pieces make use of a serious and confident tones in the two articles. This is because the topic being discusses is immensely of great importance and according to Soles & Lawler , (2005), no one gets funny when talking about threatening factors to human existence. Confidence is enhanced through the use of examples and evidence that has been used to show the gravity of the situation of the exponential growth in the computer technology that will bring about human destruction in the next few decades. However, the use of more examples by seirian makes the audience more confident in him that they are in Bruce even though it is undeniable that the examples they have given in their articles make the audience be assured that they know what they are talking about and something needs to be done urgently. Both claims have been brought out in a clear manner, but Seirian does it much better than Bruce.
