PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Your company has won a state contract to provide low-cost solar energy kits through a technology transfer program. You will introduce your company’s products to the governor and heads of several state agencies to prepare them for the media outreach events.

Your goal is to briefly outline the products and services of Off-Grid Solar Solutions by taking advantage of the graphics and features in PowerPoint.

GETTING STARTED

Download the following file from the SAM website:

· IL_PPT2013_CS_UA-D_P1a_FirstLastName_1.pptx

Open the file you just downloaded and save it with the name:

· IL_PPT2013_CS_UA-D_P1a_FirstLastName_2.pptx

· Hint: If you do not see the .pptx file extension in the Save file dialog box, do not type it. PowerPoint will add the file extension for you automatically.

To complete this Project, you will also need to download and save the following support files from the SAM website:

· support_IL_P13_CS_UA-D_P1a_sun.png

· support_IL_P13_CS_UA-D_P1a_solarkits.docx

· Hint: Opening an image may alter its file size. If you open an image support file, delete the file and download a new copy from the SAM website.

With the file IL_PPT2013_CS_UA-D_P1a_FirstLastName_2.pptx still open, ensure that your first and last name is displayed in the presenter notes on Slide 1. If the presenter notes do not display your name, delete the file and download a new copy from the SAM website.

PROJECT STEPS

Apply the second variant of the Wisp theme to all the slides in the presentation.

Open the Slide Master. On the Title and Content Layout, change the font size of the “Click to edit Master text styles” bullet text to 24 pt., then close the Slide Master.

On Slide 1 (“Off-Grid Solar Solutions”), select the text “Easy & Affordable Solar Kits,” change the font to Georgia, then bold the text.

On Slide 1, insert the picture support_IL_P13_CS_UA-D_P1a_sun.png available for download from the SAM website. Move the sun picture to the left of the arrow-in-circle picture, then use Smart Guides to align it with the top of the arrow-in-circle picture.

On Slide 1, select the gray gear and green circle shapes, then align the shapes using Align Center and Align Middle. Next, deselect the shapes, select the green circle and the gray gear shapes in that order, then apply the merge shape command Combine.

On Slide 1, resize the green gear so that it is 1.6” high and 1.5” wide. Move the green gear to the right of the arrow-in-circle picture, then use Smart Guides to align it to the top of the arrow-in-circle picture.

Display Slide 2 (“What We Do”), then insert three new slides from an outline using the file support_IL_P13_CS_UA-D_P1a_solarkits.docx, available for download at the SAM website.

In the Thumbnails pane, select Slides 3, 4, and 5, then reset them.

Move Slide 5 (“Supernova Class”) so that it becomes the new Slide 4.

On Slide 6 (“Why Go Green?”), select the title text, change the font color to Olive Green, Text 2, Darker 25% (4th column, 5th row in the Theme Colors gallery), then change the font size to 54 pt.

On Slide 6, underline the word “Why” in the title text.

On Slide 6, convert the bulleted list to the SmartArt graphic Basic Block List (1st row, 1st column in the List section of the Convert to SmartArt gallery).

On Slide 6, apply the SmartArt style Intense Effect to the SmartArt.

With Slide 6 still displaying, insert a new slide with the Title and Content layout. Type Advantage…Green in the title placeholder of the new slide.

On Slide 7 (“Advantage…Green”), use the content placeholder to insert a table with 3 columns and 5 rows, then enter the values shown in Table 1 on the following page.
