I had field study in St Richard Catholic School, on Thursday 13th October. It was privet school and It was big and organized school. My classmate and I went to the school and met with Dr. Hunt and his wife, Ms. Catherine. Dr. Hunt brought the stuff for the Science Fun Days than we carried the stuff to the gymnasium. The gymnasium was very big and was bigger than the last school we visited. We organized the tables and the stuff. There was one teacher helped us; she is student in Dr . Hunt’s class. After that, some parents came to the school as volunteers but they were few parents because of that Dr Hunt asked me to teach for the students in the second day. Then Dr. Hunt explained the scientific experiments for us. Each volunteer choose one table and one activity, and the volunteers also will teach students in fifth-grade. The parents were very excited to have experience. They will come Friday in order to explain for students.

The second day, on 14th October we came early morning and met with Dr. Hunt and the volunteers in order to teach the students some the Science Fun Days but the students were few because it is privet school. There were groups of 2-3 students. Every group had an individual teacher to teach the experience and specific time. After two minutes the students have to change the table to another one to watch the new experience. The volunteers were existed to teach and the students were interested to learn. Dr.Hunt making the students mad brainstorm effectively and find out what they think it will happened and why this happen. The students were shearing their opinions and it was cooperative learning experience. We helped the students and I explained for the students what they need. Also I had experience to teach the students .My experience was that How Does the Bottle Rocket Work?

When students arrive at my station, carefully I place the cardboard rocket on the bottle rocket launcher. I discussed with students Newton’s Third law of Motion and how it is demonstrated in this activity. After that, I have students decide on and adjust the trajectory angle in a way that they think will make the rocket fly into the bucket. Pump approximately 7 pounds of pressure into the bottle using the foot pump. I asked students what other variables beside the volume of air in the bottle can effect the launch of the rocket. Finally, let students take turns adjusting the rocket variables that they predict will cause the rocket to land in the bucket. The end of the day, parents and we carried stuff back to Dr. Hunt’s car.

I really enjoyed this experience.
