In performing a competitive analysis it is important to understand what makes up a service area profile.  The first step is to define what are the geographic boundaries; how far should the competitive analysis reach.  You can then look at the key competitive indicators.  According to our authors; Swayne, Duncan & Ginter (2013) these indicators are, "Economic, Demographic, Psychographic and Health Status Indicators (p.91).
