Business Plan Proposal

Introduction

American culture involves an early morning coffee in order to start an enjoyable and productive day. By walking down the downtown Ashland, I did not find an authentic coffee shop that would satisfy me. The only coffee shops are franchises or typical modern coffee shops. As a result, I decided to open a coffee shop that would incorporate my ideas of the authentic Arabic coffee shop, which would include coffee, traditional Arabic cakes, ice cream, and Middle Eastern sweets dates.

Background

My coffee shop will mix the Arabic culture with the American, thus having a wide variety of coffee, which would include beverages such as classic Arabic style coffee as well as traditional Cappuccino, Espresso, Latte, Americano, and Mocha. My clients will be able to choose the size of their cup, add syrups with different flavors as an addition to the drink. They will also be able to drink from the traditional Arabic cup called “fnajan.” There are also options for alcoholic drinks, such as coffee with brandy and other types of liqueur. In drawing up the menu it’s important to pay attention to desserts such as dates and baklava. They will be a perfect complement to the drink.

Proposal

The perfect place for my coffee shop is in the Crescent Moon Properties Building on 16th Street, Ashland, Oregon. After the purchase, I will place new furniture, install a toilet, a wardrobe and a workspace for the barista and a waiter. I will also implement an Arabic style design with colorful stones and ornaments where people will seat on comfortable pillows on the floor.

Criteria

I will start my project on November 29th where I will sign a contract with the landlord to start the lease. I will immediately start remodeling the place and I am anticipating for it to take 1 month. After remodeling, I will start furnishing the place and installing a bathroom, which would also take a month. The anticipated opening date is December 15th.

The initial investment will be $30000. About $ 1500-4500 will go for a professional espresso machine, $ 500-1000 - for a quality grinder. Remodeling will cost $10000-15000.

Rent: $25 per square foot. Therefore, the monthly rent will cost about $10000 for the first three months. A kilo of coffee - about $50 the final price depends on the type, the roasting, and the conditions of agreements with suppliers. Cups are a significant portion of the price. One cup varies from $5 to $7. Also, a spoons or disposable stirrers, and cup holders will cost $150 per month.
