Program:

To increase the teachers use of Preston Center we are working with Preston management to pro-rate the professors cost to the gym, also with our grant money are offering to help pay the membership fee for the first 30 professors that reach 20 points each year. We worker with the Preston staff to designate a certain area where only professors will be able to use during the hours of 3pm to 7 pm. We decided upon these hours because this is when the professors are normally done with work and is the busy time at the gym. In this designated area there will be multiple treadmills and other cardio equipment, along with a mat for stretching and abdominal exercise and a set of free weight. To encourage participation we are implementing a incentive program for all professors at Western Kentucky University. There will be a few different ways to win a prize. First there will be a competition between departments. The department with the most "points" will receive a certain amount of money to put toward a program. The second way to when a prize, such as a message or gift card, is the individual competition to see who terms the most "points". There is several ways to receive these points.

Before any of the professors start in our incentive program, they will have to first fill out a informed consent form and fill out a Par-Q and email them back to us, so we can insure they are eligible to participate in exercise activities.

The last part of the program is a way for students to encourage their professors to work out. Through our research, we found that a professor who engage in physically activity has a higher chance of being more energetic, shaper, and less stressed which could benefit the students greatly. To implement this into the program the professors that are willing, will sign a waiver saying if my students donate money, I promise to do the fitness challenge. After receiving the signed waiver, the students in that professors class will receive an email explaining first the benefits there their teacher exercising and explaining how they can be involved. The way they can be involved is going into the Preston Center and drop money in their teachers bucket. Once the professor reaches twenty dollars they have to participate in the fitness challenge of the month. After completely the challenge, that money will go toward there gym membership.
