The Renaissance Period.

The renaissance art period was unique to most parts of Europe. It emerged as a distinct style in Italy in about 1400. The period occurred at a time developments in science philosophy, literature, music and science were at their peak. Early renaissance art was created parallel with Late Medieval art. There is a bit of overlap between these two time periods.

The works of art of this period mostly consisted of those of religious depictions examples include;

The San Zaccaria Altar Piece by Giovanni Bellini.1505 Venice, Italy.

El Expolio (Disrobing of Christ) By El Greco 1577-1579 Toledo Spain.

The above works of art are clearly of the renaissance movement. The first one is from Venice, Italy while the other is from Spain. They depict religious happenings hence they can rightly be classified as that of the renaissance movement.

Baroque Movement.

This is often thought of as a period of artistic style that used styles of exaggerated motion and clear, easily interpreted detail to produce mixed feelings of drama, tension, exuberance, and grandeur in forms of art such as sculpture, painting, architecture, literature, dance, theater, and music.

This movement originated in Rome and Italy in the 17th Centuary and spread to most parts of Europe.

The Triumph of the Immaculate by Paolo de Matteis Italy.

Aeneas Flees Burning Troy, Federico Barocci, 1598.

These two works of art are painted in exquisite detail and they depict tense happenings hence they can be rightly classified as belonging to the Baroque movement.

Romanticism Movement.

Romanticism was an artistic, literary, and intellectual movement that originated in Europe toward the end of the 18th century. This movement was highly peaked from the between1800 to 1850. Romanticism was characterized by its emphasis on emotion and individualism.

The above works of art are of the romantiscm movement because they portray some sense of deep feeling and individuality.

Impressionism art movement.

Impressionism is a 19th-century art movement. It is characterized by small, thin, yet visible brush strokes, open composition, emphasis on accurate depiction of light in its changing qualities ordinary subject matter, inclusion of movement as a crucial element of human perception and experience, and unusual visual angles.

The Luncheon on the Grass by Édouard Manet, 1863

The apparent use of light yet visible brush strokes classifies these works of art as that of the impressionism movement.

Modernism Movement.

Modernism is a philosophical movement that, along with cultural trends and changes, arose from wide-scale and far-reaching transformations. The most common forms of these arts are the abstract arts (Not depicting any animate or inanimate object)

Les Demoiselles d'Avignon by Pablo Picasso.

The shades of the above paintings clearly classify them as those of the ressainance movement.
