Running head: DRAFT ESSAY

Draft Comparison and Contrast Essay

Our lives and puzzles have a lot in common. They both come in different shapes, size, and color, they require ingenuity and creativity to solve, and it’s all about the journey there is no shortcut to getting to the end purpose you have to go through the process of aligning the pieces. They both take time, and it’s a journey full of frustration and challenges sometimes we require assistance from other people to achieve our objectives. On completion, when we get what we want we feel proud and accomplished.

A puzzle can be described as problem or challenge that can only be solved or overcome with ingenuity. Life, on the other hand, is the period between conception and death. This two as much as they are very different they can be compared. Life is full of challenges that need to be overcome and problems that need to be solved just like a puzzle they require knowledgeability and to see the whole picture the parts have to fit together the equivalent of finding you purpose or accomplishing your goals in life.

Life is like a puzzle, in life, we try to fix the little parts to make it count. We try to put simple parts together to get the whole picture of who we are. We experience different caliber problems, with some being easy to solve while others are very difficult for us, yet, life has to continue. Just like a puzzle, as we fix the small parts of life to make it meaningful, is the same way we fill a puzzle to make it complete. We at times find it impossible to fix some problems, just like we are sometimes unable to completely fill the puzzle.

The impatience and frustrations we have due to not being able to find that one piece that we need to fit in the jigsaw, finding it just when we are about to give up. It is very similar to how in life we work towards the desired result but almost give up when things do not go our way, and that moment it all falls into place. It takes the time to complete a puzzle we know the destination we want, but it’s all about the journey same to life.

In most cases, we fail to know how the whole will be as we start fixing it. We take it step by step thus enabling us to grow from day to day. Some puzzles once finished they are set aside for later, or new puzzles are started just like in life we find some new path to follow, a new goal to aim for or we try to redo something we had done early with the expectations of a better outcome each time learning a new lesson.

We work on the puzzle only to find that when we are almost done that last piece is missing which is very disappointing especially because the picture is nearly complete. This happens in our lives to when we work so hard at something, but we don’t see any results, and sometimes you feel like giving up. Working on jigsaw with others is easier and more fun just like getting help from a friend or colleague that enables you achieve your goal or move one step closer to getting there. At times the pieces may be falling into place easily then suddenly you are stuck and do not know what to do.

Comparing life to a puzzle was quite interesting due to the fact that life and puzzles are very similar in many different ways, and the same for the differences. Puzzles come in many different shapes, sizes, and colors. While the people who live these lives are many different shapes, sizes, and colors, but each carry their own image. I chose this topic because of the similarities they share and there aren’t many differences. I will use resources from my own experiences, the internet, and also ask others of their opinion on this matter.

My life is a puzzle but only with a million pieces, and as humans we don’t know everything but we try to piece bits of information together to get a clearer picture. Puzzles are not that different except with a puzzle you can’t force the pieces together to form the image it has to be correct or else the puzzle would be ruined and it wouldn’t be complete, but in life we can create the puzzle pieces from obstacles, questions, and personal situations; and we can sometimes alter them to fit the way we would like to form an outcome plus it doesn’t matter how big or small life will find a way to reverse the resistance. I think life is different from a puzzle because I look at life we are put together the wrong way causing us to figure with pieces go where with no sense of direction unlike a puzzle it has grooves and shaped edges for guidance.

From the above discussion, it is clear that life is a puzzle because we have to fix various pieces to achieve the entire picture. We have to find, and align the necessary pieces to make sure that we achieve our goals in life which is key to our daily life.
