SCI 225 Milestone Two Guidelines and Rubric

Submit an outline of the Tools and Technologies portion of the final project.

The submission should include a description of the geospatial tools and technologies that could be used to explore or enhance your selected discipline and an evaluation of no-cost or open-source geospatial tools and technologies that you will use to create your map in Milestone Three.

Specifically the following critical elements must be addressed:

A. Describe geospatial tools and technologies that could be used to explore or enhance your discipline. Consider tools you used throughout the course in addition to others that could be discipline-specific.

B. Apply these tools and technologies to your discipline. In other words, how can these geospatial tools and technologies be used to explore or enhance your discipline? Support your claims using your research of spatial awareness in your discipline.

C. Select no-cost or open-source geospatial tools and technologies to use to create a map that accurately represents an aspect of your discipline. Which geospatial open-source and no-cost tools and technologies will you use to create your map? Why? Examples of open-source and no-cost tools and technologies that you could use include ArcGIS Online, QGIS, Google Earth, MapStory, and Story Maps.

Guidelines for Submission: The format of this milestone will be a presentation with at least 10 slides. Your presentation should use PowerPoint or another comparable presentation tool, with speech notes.
