Team Presentations

  • Each team will choose a company and prepare a presentation about organizational behavior practices in the chosen company.

  • The goal of these presentations is to look at topics we are studying on a more “applicable” level.
  • Some examples of topics might be, but are not limited to: job performance, organizational commitment, job satisfaction, motivation, teams, leadership, power, organizational culture, and organization structure.

Team Presentations

  • It is expected that all team members will contribute their fair share to their team’s work and all members must participate in the presentation.

  • You should have at least 5 references
  • Please do not use Wikipedia, Textbook, or Lecture Slides
  • The PowerPoint presentation should also include list of references in the last slide of the presentation in addition to giving references on the respective slides.
  • You must email me an electronic version of your presentation at least 12 hours prior to your presentation time.

Team Presentations

  • Your presentation should be 20-25 minutes.
  • Q&A: 10-15 minutes
  • All members of the team must participate to get credit.
  • Please note that team members will be asked to rate each other after their presentation.
  • If there is a problem with any team member(s) not cooperating with the team (e.g.: failing to attend meetings/team discussions outside of class), this must be reported immediately to me.

  • Briefly identify reasons why you, as a team, chose this company

  • Explain, how you will Integrate the theories and concepts discussed in class into your presentation
  • Mention the draft presentation flow and the topics you will discuss
  • History of Company
  • Organizational Culture
  • Organizational Structure
  • Leadership & Teams
  • Individual Mechanisms (Motivation; Satisfaction; Commitment; Ethics etc.)
  • How will you gather data?
  • What kind of sources, databases you will use
  • How will you coordinate your team?
  • References

Grading Criteria

1. Quality of Information Provided (30%):

  • Is the information effectively related to concepts discussed in class?
  • Does the information address the requirements stated in the instructions?
  • Are main points summarized and supported effectively?
  • Are questions from the audience answered effectively?

2. Public Speaking Skills (10%):

  • Is the information communicated in a clear and concise manner?
  • Do the presenters appear comfortable with the information and move at a comfortable pace?
  • Do presenters interact with the audience?
  • Do presenters appear professional (e.g., appropriate attire, body language and eye contact)?

3. Visual Aid Quality (5%):

  • Is the aid visually appealing (e.g., appealing graphics/template; videos)?
  • Is aid effective for its purpose?
  • Are all slides the same format?

Grading Criteria

4. Presentation Flow/Structure (5%):

  • Do team members flow from one section to the next with ease?
  • Is there an easily followed, logical order/structure to the overall presentation?
  • Is there a clear introduction and conclusion to the overall presentation?

5. Use of Time (5%):

  • Did team make good use of available time?
  • Did team adhere to time limit?
  • Did team members share the time fairly equally?

6. Peer Rating (20%):

  • Did the team member attend and participate cooperatively in meetings/team discussions?
  • Did the team member contribute his/her fair share?
