Research Proposal
(10% Individual Written Report)
Purpose of Assignment
The purpose of the proposal is to share the proposed research paper. The proposal gives information about the background of the situation, the thesis statement, and why the research is important. The first paragraph is called the introduction. The second paragraph is called the background and provides information about the three areas that will support the thesis statement. The third paragraph is called the significance and will share information about why this research will be important.

Requirements
Written Report
1. It is a two-page (500 to 1000 words) paper written in future tense.
2. Below are the components that must be included in the proposal. You should follow strictly the steps described.
Statement of the Problem/Issue/Topic
The introduction is the guiding theme of the proposal/paper. An introductory paragraph that provides some information about the topic. One sentence or two will be about the part of the topic you want to write about – defining the topic for the reader. You can state the problem in one sentence or question (This is like the thesis statement) for the proposal).
What do you Want to Find out About the Topic
This section will state the purpose of the study. What do you want to find out, based on the problem/issue/question. W hat are the three areas that you want to find out more about – that you will use to develop the topic. These may be the three areas you will use in the literature review.
Significance
This part will tell why this research will be important. You will take your three ideas (from the previous section) and give reasons from the library research why your study will be worth pursuing and how it is developed from what others have said/written about the topic.
References
Contains 6 refereed research articles not older than 10 years and published in relevant journals, periodicals, newspapers, or other published pieces written following strict APA rules and guidelines for correct references.

Punctuation and spelling and capitalization are correct. Words are well chosen, and written by the student. Headings are used. The paper is written in third person. The student uses full sentences and no bullet points. The proposal is written in the future tense. |
