Children’s Informational Text Lesson Plans Rubric
Lesson plans demonstrate a high level of skill in designing instruction in reading, writing, speaking, viewing, listening, and/or thinking skills through the highly skilled and adept use of ELA and concepts from reading, language, and child development.
Lesson plan includes clear, creative instructional materials, activities, and supports that are aligned to the learning objectives and address the needs of specific individuals or groups with similar needs that are consistent with the class profile.
Lesson plans clearly and comprehensively identify vocabulary, targeted instructional support for the use of vocabulary, and additional language demands associated with the language function consistent with the class profile.
Planned assessments clearly and creatively provide multiple forms of evidence to monitor students’ use of reading, writing, speaking, viewing, listening, and/or thinking skills throughout and at the end of the lesson.
The lesson plans are free of mechanical and conventional errors. Word choice reflects well-developed use of practice and topic-related language
