Objectives:
· Learn basic HTML tags
· Use global and inline styling
· Link multiple webpages
· Use global and relative referencing
· Include images in webpage and link them to other webpages
· Use unordered, ordered, and definitional lists
· Use and manipulate tables
· Visualize boxes
· Design a simple webpage using all the above concepts
Instructions:
· Submit only one zipped folder named (Fname_Lname_Project) including all your work
Assignment description:
Your academic department asked you to design a new website for their department. Your website must include at least 6 pages all linked to the home page. Name the home page “index.html”. Your website must include images (multiple of them). You need also to link your website to other pages on the web (like SCSU website). In addition, you need to use the following when designing your website:
1) Headers h1, h2, h3, and h4
2) horizontal lines
3) Multiple paragraphs per page
4) use bold and italic font styles
5) Empty lines
6) global styling (background and font colors)
7) use multiple colors in the text
8) use inline styling
9) your index page must link all other pages you design (you need at least 6 in total)
10) you need to link pages to some external webpages as well
11) use both absolute and relative referencing
12) Insert images to your webpages. Make sure to format them properly
13) link some pictures to external or internal webpages
14) use attributes whenever you think it is proper
15) use escape symbols and accent marks whenever you think it is proper
16) use span tag whenever you think it is proper
17) Insert lists (unordered, ordered, and definitional). You also need to use sub-lists
18) Use tables and format them properly
19) Control some boxes and make them visual
20) Validate your work using E3C Markup Validation Service. Make sure you don’t have errors. Use the following link to validate your work: validator.w3.org/#validate_by_upload
· Save all your files
· Submit both the HTML code and all webpages and images in a single zipped folder
Notes:
a) Use the above list as a rubric. You need to address all points
b) Be creative! Use whatever external resources to make your website more appealing
c) You need to be consistent. Make sure that the look and feel for the website is consistent
