BGMT Disc ***ZEEK THE GEEK***
David:
For my report, I am proposing a four-ten hour day work week to be the standard across the enterprise. A few government employees are currently working this 4 day schedule while most are working a schedule that uses a nine hour day with every other tenth day off. Half of those who are on the nine hour day schedule are working on a given Friday while the other half are out of the office along. The following Friday, those who were working the previous Friday are out of the office while those who are working the ten hour schedules are out of the office every Friday. The differences in schedules frequently pose a problem as essential personnel are often simply not available during these varying schedules. The proposal I am making will eliminate the down time on Fridays experienced by those few who are required to be at work on a given Friday as everyone will be on the same schedule. The audience for this report will start with the facility commanders at a local level, requiring their endorsement before the proposal is pushed up to a regional level for their approval.
The chart attached shows the different weekly work schedules for various government employees at this facility. The two groups that are on a nine hour schedule work by themselves each Friday while the group that works a ten hour schedule works by themselves for their last hour Monday through Thursday. From my experience, Fridays are normally difficult to accomplish any task that involves anyone from another work schedule.
