OM Course Project Outline Due Day 7, Week 5 (Weight: 3%)

The purpose of this 1-page outline is to help students prepare for Assignment 3; to ensure they are on the right track by receiving faculty feedback early on.

The OM course project will involve analyzing a company vis-à-vis the 10 operations management areas. Students will use a SIPOC (suppliers, inputs, process, outputs, and customers) tool to describe the company’s operations. Students will then choose a key process (or processes) to analyze in detail, followed by specific actionable recommendations.

Your outline should:

1. Name and describe the organization or company, and its associated industry (if confidential, describe the organization such as “a medical device manufacturer”).

2. List the key operations and processes in your organization that you plan to describe, document, and analyze in detail (just the list – no process maps).
