Business Research Project Part 3
Netflix company analysis is important in that it offers the overview of the performance over the years and the data analysis which cannot be handled by only looking at the data. With the developing and plotting of data, it is for the benefit of the researcher to offer absolute honest data in terms of the once used to plot both the charts and graphs. With the project concern, the research is based on the subscribers who are in Netflix, the customer’s satisfaction and the app of Netflix. The ultimate descriptive analysis that can be used to show the real issue on the development of the population that is concern are the graphs and the chats that are important to the visual analysis.
Charts and Graphs
The histogram above represents the first question of the survey which asked participants, the numbers of years that they subscribed to Netflix. Based upon Team A’s calculations the mean of the graph is 4.076, a median of 4, and a mode of 2. The standard error was found to equal 0.0801. The standard deviation of the data resulted in 2.5343 with a sample variance of 6.4226. The kurtosis was documented at a -0.5526 with skewness of 0.7017. The histogram had a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 10, which resulted in a range of 9. The sum of the survey was 4,076, with a count of 1,000.
The next question asked by Team A in the survey questioned if the participants were satisfied with the content provided by Netflix. The respondents answered with 643 yes answers and 357 no answers. This results in a percentage of 64.3% satisfied with the content. On the contrary, 35.7% were unsatisfied with the content provided with their Netflix subscription.
The third question requested by Team A, asked if the customer was able to use the Netflix application. The survey participants responded with a 74.6% answer of yes which was 746 of the surveyed population. On the other hand, 25.4% answered with a no, equaling 254 survey participants.
Question 4 asked the price increase that customers would be willing to pay. Based upon the data provided the mean of the graph is 1.662, a median of 1, and a mode of 0. The standard error was found to equal 0.04707. The standard deviation of the data resulted in 1.4886 with a sample variance of 2.2159. The kurtosis was documented at a -1.3164 with skewness of .36529. The histogram had a minimum of 0 and a maximum of $4, which resulted in a range of 4. The sum of the survey was 1,662, with a count of 1,000.
The next question asked was if the surveyed population would consider returning to Netflix as a subscriber. The pie chart represents the participants yes and no responses, which resulted in 58.9% that said yes and 41.1% that said no.
Question 6 of Team A’s survey tried to gain an understanding on why the survey participants decided to unsubscribe from Netflix. The survey gave three options to choose from in this question. The results were 64.5% said prices were too high, 22% said that content was limited, and 14% answered that they had no time to watch Netflix.
The final question of the survey asked if the population had subscriptions of other similar services to Netflix. There were eight options given which resulted in the following answers: HBO had 88, cable resulted with 235, satellite had 260, YouTube Red equaled 66, Hulu had 54, Sling resulted with 70, other with 44, and none came in at 395.
At hand there are three measures of central tendency and they all have a different role in defining where the center of the distribution or the average score is position. You have the median, media, mode and the mean. Team A believes that the mean is most appropriate for this data because it is used regularly in progressive numerical procedures. Other reason why Team A strongly supports the use of the mean is that it makes up from all of the scores in the data set ("Measures of Central Tendency", 2016).
· You do not have to put the data in order.
· Mean is a very descriptive value.
· Represents what each value would be if they were all equal.
With measures of dispersion it attempts to describe the range of the data values in a data set. Team A believes that the most appropriate for this data is the standard deviation because it is a more dependable measure for the reason that it depends on all data values and is less vulnerable to outliers. Standard deviation calculation is more involved than that of the range. The standard deviation also makes effort to shows how much variation or dispersion from the mean exists. According to What Is Standard Deviation? (2016), "It measures the deviation from the mean, which is a very significant statistic (Shows the central tendency). It squares and makes the negative numbers Positive. The square of small numbers is smaller (Contraction effect) and large numbers larger (Expanding effect). Consequently it makes you take no notice of small deviations and see the larger one clearly”.
Conclusion
With the data research on the issue it is important to note that most of the customers above 50% enjoys the services offered by Netflix and are ready to go back and try it out again. In the efforts to determine the performance it is only the price that they offer for their products that chases away the consumers of their products which is represented by 64.5% which is a big margin of those complaining of price increase. In the effort to make the better part of the society and remove the limitation of losing customers, it is important to note that the prices of the products should not be shooting up which such intensity. For better survival in the market it is important for Netflix to accommodate friendly prices to avoid losing customers.
