Project A: Finished Product
Retrieve the Excel Big Data NRI 2016 and 2003 spreadsheet. Using your same countries finish Project A according to the instructions below.
1. Start a new Excel Workbook or rename the NRI 2016 and 2003 workbook to “your name Project A”.
2. This new Excel Workbook will contain your data collection of the NRI ranking and Subindexes for just YOUR countries. Do not include the Big Data sheet. Name this sheet My Countries.
3. Now, look at the NRI 2016 and 2003 worksheet. Find your countries in this new sheet. You can sort by the country column to make life easier. Review the differences between the years. Review the data of 2003 and the Environment subindexes with your 2016 Environment subindexes of your countries. Major differences? Do you know why?
4. Select 5 countries from your original list. I do not care how you select the countries they can be from 1 region, or countries that have changed the most or the least. Do a comparison of these 5 countries using any data that you have found: the NRI rank, NRI subindexes, Population, GDP or any other economic indicator. Copy their data on to another sheet and title this sheet Final 5.
5. Create 3 charts that visual show your findings. Place these charts on a separate sheet in your workbook titled charts. Remember to copy the charts as pictures. Make sure the charts have titles.
6. In the first worksheet of the workbook, create a documentation sheet that explains the following:
· list of sources for your data - remember to include the Global Information Reports,
· a write up an analysis of what you found in your research of your 5 countries. Tell me the story of your research. Look at the final spreadsheet of data – Can you see any trends? What are the differences? Are most of your countries from the same geographical region? How might a country move up for next year’s ranking?
7. Ask ME questions –throughout the next few classes we will discuss using Excel and creating this final Project A workbook. Upload your Finished Product, it is due October 20th.
