DEMARCUS LINDSEY

ENG 201

Intended Audience: Work Environment Comment by KKrueger: Always double space all formal essays unless told otherwise.

Why respecting the colleagues is important.

When in an office it's important it realizes the kind of people you are working ,their religious beliefs ,their political beliefs and also the cultural background .This helps you to make sure that you do not offend their faith and beliefs with remarks that you make without intending to hurt or offend anyone. Comment by KKrueger: Do not directly address readers in a formal essay. Also, there should be an overall intro that introduces the topic as well as a thesis that notes the main points to be addressed.

Respecting this is the act of understanding one's opinion regardless of the background the gender or even the religion (Bergum, 2005).It is a way of treating a person well and also honoring the decisions they make whether you are opposing or supporting the idea.It is taught right from being an aid the kids are taught on how to conduct themselves and how they have supposed their friends and the elders. Respect can also be shown in very many different ways it could be in gestures ,in a word of mouth or even signs (Bouchard,1994).Respected can be both given and taken depending on how one is brought up and what they believe in.In receiving some people earn the respect of the people maybe through their deeds of humanity or an extraordinary action. In different religion, respect is shown differently. In japan when referring to a person who is higher in the ranking and also social status it is disrespectful if you do not address them by the title “san.”In China, unless you know someone for a long time or you are very good friends it is bad to call them by their name. In the country like India respect is shown by touching the feet of the elderly .In the west African culture respecting is shown touching the fist.It is important to note that when at work the colleagues should be referred by the titles the hold in office. Comment by KKrueger: Fully introduce all sources and give them credibility. Comment by KKrueger: Avoid the second person.

What is respecting your colleagues? Comment by KKrueger: Having subheadings is fine, but having so many with such short paragraphs between them makes this seem more like a memo than an essay.

This could be achieved through respecting people’s privacy, their personal space and not intruding without, belongings this could include the laptop, mobile phone and tablets amongst others. It also includes showing them their importance in the office.
