BMET Individual ECG Lab Project (three weeks)
1) Compute the resistor value for a high-pass filter having C = 0.1µF, cut-off
frequency of 0.3 Hz, and the gain of 2.
2) Compute the resistor value for a low-pass filter having C = 0.1µF, cut-off
frequency of 50 Hz, and the gain of 2.
3) Build the HPF circuit and test it for sine-wave frequencies between 1 Hz
and 100 Hz with 1 V(p-p).
4) Build the LPF circuit and test it for sine-wave frequencies between 1 Hz
and 100 Hz with 1 V(p-p).
5) Build the instrumentation amplifier circuit using the AD624 Precision
Instrumentation Amplifier (Analog Devices) and test it for 0.5 V (DC), and
1 V (DC) inputs. Adjust the gains.
6) Connect instrumentation amplifier, HPF, and the LPF in series and test
for sine-wave inputs with 0.5 V (p-p) and 1 V (p-p) between frequencies of 1
Hz and 100 Hz.
7) Connect RA, LA and RL leads (3M Red dot Multi-purpose Monitor
electrodes) to the cascaded circuit. Adjust gains and display an ECG signal.
