Experiment 2. Network Configuration Discovery

In this experiment, you are asked to use network utility tools demonstrated in class (route print; ipconfig /all on windows, and ifconfig on unix/linux) to find out the following network configuration information of your local network:

· Link layer (e.g., Ethernet) and IP addresses of your computer

· IP addresses of the default router, DNS and DHCP servers

· The address class of your local network (assuming it is class-based), the subnet mask, and the number of IP addresses available in the local subnet.

In your lab report (which should be typed, no longer than one page), list the above network configuration information and briefly describe which tools you use to find out what.
