Hi everyone! Here are some common sources that should be avoided when researching
discussions and assignments.
Other sources to avoid are boundless.com, study. com, coursehero.com, cliffnotes.com, or any
similar source. These web sites usually are not written by subject-matter experts and often
contain factual errors.
Wiki sources in general should be avoided, but the most popular is Wikipedia. There are a few
reasons why Wikipedia or other wiki sources can't be considered valid research sources. 1) The
authors have no credentials. Anyone can write anything at any time. 2) Because of #1, it's
technically possible for you to write or make stuff up in a wiki article, and then cite yourself. 3)
What's written in them is often wrong, and even if accurate, the site can change after you've cited
it. Even Wikipedia has a disclaimer that their site isn't to be trusted as a valid source.

If you’re having trouble finding good sources, use the “Library” link on the left of the classroom
page to search their databases. A Google search is not the optimal method to find useful sources.
