Amendments have helped to further explain how to handle certain issues in America. The Constitution did not quite lay out answers for every single problem that this country would face, therefore amendments are a great asset to enforcing laws in America. In my opinion, a pure modification of the Constitution would be disgraceful to our fore fathers of this great nation. Sadly, I feel that there is so much freedom that people are taking advantage of certain rights that is sending this country down the toilet. For example, take all these race issues that have been going on lately. Police officers have a tough job. They are needed by people to enforce lays and provide safety for law abiders. But when individuals feel that they don't have to respect the law, this is where we've been having issues. Of all the recent events that have happened regarding citizens being shot by police officers, each incident involved a citizen that was not cooperating. That is it, the basis of the problem. Citizens feel that the can argue and back talk police officers. That is what gets you in trouble! And for people to riot and destroy their own city, trying to bring up race issues is the most ridiculous thing in the world; killing this countries well laid path to greatness by our founding fathers. I've found an article that is in regards to free speech describes how a professor at the University of Kansas feels that "schools are not doing enough to protect free speech". Ms. Quenette, a communications professor stated. "Specifically, they are protecting the speech of some, those whom they fear or those voices which are loudest, but they are not protecting the speech of those whose voices are easier to silence. Generally, these quieter voices are those of faculty and staff who should rightfully fear for their jobs". (Ellin, 2016) Ms. Quenette apparently spoke on the racial tensions going on in America and some students were offended and wrote a letter to higher management to have Ms. Quenette resign. THIS IS THE PROBLEM WITH OUR COUNTRY! Minorities feel that they are entitled to god like treatment; when was the last time you see anything for the white race? There isn't a White Entertainment Television, like Black Entertainment Television. I see this even in our military forces today. We have heritage months where we celebrate Hispanic, African-American, LGBT, but nothing for Caucasians. Why is that? It is because this country is too worried about offending people, just like in this college professors concern. She feared for losing her job because of the minority students were taken care of rather than treating the situation if a fair manner.

The world has had so many recent cases and topics in which there would be an effort to amend the Constitution. A topic that I think many people tend to think about when it comes to the Constitution and Amendments is none other than one of the candidates for the 2016 presidential election, Donald Trump. Donald Trump has said many different things that has hit to the heart of people of all different races and genders. Donald Trump has openly shared his beliefs and feelings about how terrorists should be treated. In his eyes, Donald Trump would kill the terrorists. However, Donald Trump made a shocking revelation on how he would not only kill the terrorists but, kill the terrorists family members as well. This is against all rules to the Constitution and the 8th Amendment. The 8th Amendment under the United States Constitution clearly states that excessive fines or excessive bail should not be imposed or required. It also states the most important part of the Amendment that cruel and any unusual type of punishments should not be inflicted upon. This is also known as the Cruel and Unusual Punishment Clause which prevents any unfair and excessive pain inflicted to an individual. Donald Trump would have wanted cruel punishment as a sort of revenge on the terrorists and also their family members. However, the targeted attacks and inflicted damage on any of the family members how hadn't done anything would trigger another violation this time in the 5th Amendment. It would violate the 5th Amendment all because what is known as due process. This would be because the family members would be targets of innocent killings and cruel punishment for not even violating one crime at all. All of these things would violate the Constitution and with the Amendments intact it would help these things from happening constantly.

Even though constitutional amendments are rare, there's often talk in America about changing the Constitution. Search recent news articles from the last two months and report on a story about an effort to amend the Constitution. Be sure to explain why an amendment would be needed rather than just a basic change in federal law.
Amendment II:
“A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”
I would like to take the time to discuss this article a little bit, since it's been a recurring issue as of late. This article states that we as people of the United States, have the the right to own and keep firearms on our person. But in the last few years there has been a few incidents at schools, churches, theaters, even at police departments. That are having some people question this article. Saying that it needs to be abolished or amended, making stricter regulations when it comes to acquiring a firearm(s).
Two people in particular are Presidential Candidate Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton has been quoted as trying to get rid of the amendment, which a lot of people do not agree with. They see it as punish for those that are in their right mind. Yes, there are those who aren't in their right mind who have weapons. But in an article from (washingtontimes.com), she says “I do not want to repeal the Second Amendment. I do not want to take anyone’s gun away, I just don’t want you to get shot by someone who shouldn’t have a gun in the first place.” So she simply wants to have stricter regulations on who can acquire a weapon. Which I can agree with to a certain point. Trump on the other hand is a strong advocate of the amendment. If more people had weapons some lives could be saved. For example a person is shooting at a store, someone in the aisle is also carrying an so they shoot the other individual to save everyone else.
In my opinion yes somethings can be changed but there is no reason to abolish the article. And even in changing it, not everything will be fixed.
