Instructions

Information and data is a critical resource. Maintaining and managing data is a key function in business. However, data integration across and throughout the company is critical. If the sales, accounting, human resources and other departments need data, then that data should be available to all other departments. Everyone who uses this data should have the tools to access that data when they need it.

This is where enterprise systems (ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning) prove invaluable. ERP bridges the gap among departments and information users and it cuts costs, thereby adding to the bottom line. However, such integration is easier said than done.

What’s the solution? Cloud based enterprise resource applications! Many companies, both small and large, are now using cloud computing because it’s an efficient and cost effective way to manage data and information. Cloud computing allows companies to customize applications to suit their individual needs for much less money than it would cost to develop these applications in house.

As a result, such information has moved to virtual databases and services on the cloud, allowing immediate and easy access to all employees involved.

Read the assigned case - Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Heads to the Cloud - at the end of Chapter 9 in your textbook. You should plan to use at least one additional resource for this assignment.

Prepare a Power Point Presentation addressing the following points regarding CRM computing:

•What types of companies are most likely to adopt cloud-based CRM software services and why?

•What companies might not be well suited for this type of software?

•What are the advantages of using cloud-based enterprise applications?

•What are the disadvantages of using cloud-based enterprise applications?

•What management, organization, and technology issues should be addressed in deciding whether to use a conventional CRM system versus a cloud-based version?

Requirements

•The minimum length requirement is 10 PowerPoint Slides; the maximum number of slides is 15 slides. This would not include a Title slide and an ending Reference Slide.

•Include an introductory slide that properly introduces the topic.

•Include a slide that states the objectives of this presentation.

•Include a Summary slide that effectively concludes the presentation.

•The last slide should be a Reference slide that gives your sources in APA format.

•Remember that Power Points should be concise. Avoid a lot of text. You are addressing the main points. Use the speaker’s note to provide additional verbiage to explain your slides.

•Your slides must have a logical and sequential flow of relevant information.

•A minimum of two outside sources are required in addition to the textbook case.

◦Note: WIKIs, such as Wikipedia, are not allowed. They are not credible resources. For example, I could put information on Wikipedia about how to perform heart transplant surgery, but I am not a heart surgeon. Would you want to use my information?

IMPORTANT NOTE: Your presentation should not exceed 10 MB. If your presentation is over 10 MB you will not be able to submit your file in Canvas.
