• Font size 30 pt + for headings, 28 pt for information and 20 pt for in-text citations and reference list.
• Use a template, colored fonts and/or a background to make an outline into a presentation. Use graphics with a purpose, a graph, chart, illustration, diagram or image. Enlarge and balance with text, fill the slide.
• Add a few slides rather than be too heavy or complex. Slide number does not include title or reference slides.
SPEAKER NOTES: 60%+ text: The meat is what the speaker says organized and supported by the slides.
WHAT are speaker notes? Speaker Notes are the audio of a presentation. Speaker Notes include introductory comments, explanations and descriptions of information on each slide, transition statements between slides, descriptions of graphs or examples, and a conclusion summarizing the main points. Write the presentation as if you were going to present by reading the speaker notes with each slide. I will present your work using the speaker notes you provide. I grade in View > Normal.
WHERE are the speaker notes? In PPt click View > Normal. Enter speaker notes at Click to add text below the slide. To increase the text area, move the horizontal line dividing the slide and text box up. The text would be the audio for the slide. Some students record their voice reading the speaker notes for each slide. This is not necessary but may help understand what goes in speaker notes.
IN-TEXT CITATIONS: go on the slides in APA format at the end of a text line or under an image. Also identify the source of information your speaker notes using in-text citations.
REFERENCE LIST: A list of full references goes on the last slide/s, contains all sources and follows APA format. Info for images http://www.landmark.edu/Library/citation_guides/apa.cfm
