Task allocation is one of the essential functions of the project manager (McShane & Glinow, 2015). For the task schedule to be maintained, task assignment should be up to standards. The project manager is responsible for assigning tasks to different people and creating a plan that the project will follow. These two tasks are related. The program relies on the people that will be assigned the tasks. A competent person is expected to follow the schedule stringently while an individual who is not suited for the job will not maintain the schedule Project Schedule Development. (n.d).
Task allocation should be impartial, equal, and well justified. This process should rely wholly on the team member’s behavior. These behaviors are divided into personality, competency, and priority Project Schedule Development. (n.d). Personality is the team member’s line of thinking, emotions, and behavior that characterizes a person. The competency is the skills, ability and the knowledge that is required to do that job efficiently. Priority is the personal characteristic of knowing which task to do first which is imperative.
In the allocation of tasks, most of the tasks are dependent on other tasks. The group member must portray a set of skills needed to collaborate with the other task’s members to make sure that the task is done in an efficient and timely manner. The allocation of the tasks hence relies on these set of person’s behavior Whatney, (n. d.).
The personality of the team member must be taken into consideration. The schedule makes use of what if scenarios. If the task is a high profile and of paramount importance for the project, the members working on the job must have personalities that allow them to make split-second decisions which will reduce the risks associated with failure of the specific task Project Schedule Development. The competencies are the first consideration when joining the team. The skills also involve the interest, the capability, and the ambition. Depending on the type of teams, functional or departmental, the member must show the ability to perform the task without any hitches, maximum incentive, and efficiency. The competency also entails persistence and intensity of doing the job. Highly competent group members should be given the jobs that are paramount to the project’s success.
Scheduling for the project is a product of estimation as unique issues do occur in the execution of the project. The schedule contains the duration of the project and the sequence of the execution. The importance of a plan is that it provides a good way to monitor and control the project, to know which resources will be assigned to the project, provide a good way to track the progress of the task, and avoid wastage of resources. The schedule should be phased to make sure that the sequence of completion is done accurately (McShane & Glinow, 2015). The plan for implementing digital signage project for California Coast Credit Union will be divided into the schedule for each process, namely initiation, planning, execution, control and monitoring, and closing.

The project that I undertook was a simple project with little risk. Its objectives were to give the credit union more exposure to the university students. Some of the tasks take more time and involve a whole lot of people to complete. There are told used to create a schedule and among them is the program Network Analysis, Critical Path Analysis, schedule compression, and precedence diagram Quality Software. (n. d.).
The Critical Path Analysis helps the project manager to both plan and monitor the progress of the project. It ultimately assesses the paramount tasks that have to be completed in time to make it confident that the project will be finished in time. It also identifies the projects that can be delayed and won’t have a profound effect on the schedule Quality Software. (n. d.). The CPA hence prioritizes the tasks. The CPA will be substantial as the most valuable tool in assigning jobs as the tasks that are of utmost importance to the project can be done by the most competent, and people with the best personality. The rest can be given to the other workers (Esposito, 2015).
Precedence diagram is like the CPA, but it makes use of pictures. The diagram also shows the interdependence between the different tasks. When giving jobs that require more cooperation between the tasks, people with a real personality and splendid communication skills will be needed to avoid conflicts. Understanding in the members undertaking tasks should be a trait that the project manager should take into consideration to make sure that conflicts are avoided Quality Software. (n. d.).
Developing a schedule is not a dynamic process. The schedule changes time to time due to unseen changes. The program is meant to oversee the future and see to it that the project uses only the required resources and is completed using the minimum time Quality Software. (n. d.). The critical processes to consider when managing the schedule are the scenario analysis, activity-objective analysis, resource analysis, and the inputs-schedule analysis (Esposito, 2015).
The scenario analysis is done by use of the CPA which will help me monitor the whole project through some specific tasks. All the functions are divided into two depending on their delay and the delay of the completion of the project. The monitoring of the vital tasks that will drastically affect the schedule is one key process to make sure that the schedule has the least deviation Project Schedule Development. (n. d).
Depending on the complexity of the tasks, the overseeing will also rely on the tasks and the importance of the plan. The people who are given the paramount tasks will need medium oversight while the people gave frequent critical tasks and they have somewhat professional behavior will require the maximum supervision (Esposito, 2015).
Resources used will show how well the progress of the project is going and the time that is left. The resources are the people resources and the instruments. The different tasks that require different resources will enable a person to monitor what is next on the schedule. The inputs are the items that are needed in the design of a good program. The data are working days of the projects and the days that the workers are off, the project risks, and resource requirement. This process is necessary as a corrective measure in the schedule when it is going horribly wrong. Once the days that the workers will work, the off days can be used to catch up to the project’s schedule. The risks that have already been passed in the past stages will ensure the monitoring of the progress of the project (Project Schedule Development, n. d.).
