Gaining Success Program
Part1: Background
The Success Gain program is purposed to provide Basic Skills Plus services to students who have not completed their high school credential or GED diploma and are seeking a career in the healthcare field. The evaluation of the program will seek to determine if Nurse Aide I pathway is successful for students and employees. NAs are not licensed, but many acquire certified nurse aide/nursing assistant (CNA) status after proving that they have certain skills related to the requirements of particular positions. They can do this through formal education programs at technical colleges and community colleges or through hospital-based training (Hockenberry, 2016). The ultimate goal of the program is for students to gain their Nurse Aide I certification and HSE diploma and gain employment as well as entered into other pathways.
The program will be operated through the Basic Skills Program, with the director being the overseer and two part-time career coaches to provide student support services as well evaluation and follow-up. The survey will seek to collect information about the best methods of enhancing a collaboration between students, examiner and instructors to ensure that instruction is contextual and aligned with accepted standards while also providing support through mentoring and coaching. The survey is meant to ensure the best information is collected about competences that the students have gained, best methods to attain licensure exams performance, data to ensure that students complete the program and are satisfied with the outcomes and can secure a job upon completion.
Part2: Directions
Before embarking on the survey, there are directions that guided the whole process by even defining the time span that it would be completed. I will ensure that each participant is emailed the form with questions separately or use BCC or blind carbon copy to undisclosed recipients so that other participants don’t get the email addresses of the other participants. This will look like the structure outlined below.
You are kindly requested to take a few minutes to complete this ten (10) item survey on or before Friday, August 12, 2016 survey. You do not have to complete all the questions in the survey. It won’t be known about who did not complete or who completed as the names of the participants remain confidential. The information collected will not be used to identify you. You have been provided a link to complete the survey online by clicking. Open the attached word document, respond to the questions, save a copy and then email the completed survey to [email protected]. Your results will be kept secure and confidential. Results will be used in aggregate form. In the survey, please rate how strongly you agree or disagree (5 strongly agree, 4 agree, 3 undecided, 2 disagree, 1 strongly disagree) with each of the following (10) items. For each statement make a single selection.
I consent to take part in the research project conducted by Denise Young and understand the study is entitled EVALUATION OF THE SUCCESS OF IMPLIMENTING THE GAINING SUCCESS PROGRAM and will be located at the local community college.
The ultimate goal of the study is for students to gain their Nurse Aide I certification and HSE diploma and gain employment as well as entered into other pathways.
The purpose of the study are:
1. Identifying the factors that will lead to successful Gaining Success program that leads to retention, graduation and passing the licensure exam.
1. Making recommendations, if any, to improve, expand and maintain the Gaining Success program.
Further, the information gained in this study could be useful and efficient in justifying the investment of resources from program sponsor(s). The economic benefits of the program should exceed the total costs (Saunders, Evans, & Joshi, 2005). Same information could aid in addressing non-academic issues such as reducing unemployment rate to below 10% as well as guiding strategic institution-wide planning in allocating their budgeting and purchasing resources for teaching.
In any case you have questions for clarification; you can reach the researcher Denise Young on at (910) 642-5555 or email [email protected]. If you feel there are questions that the researcher could have included in the research, then you can suggest them and email via the same email.
