NTC/415 Network Integration Project

SYLLABUS
Course Description The focus of this course is the application of network design and performance concepts. The design considerations for a global network, including LANs and WANs with both wired and wireless functionality, will be applied. End-to-end performance criteria and service levels guarantees will be examined as a part of network design project. Network capabilities to handle varying types of traffic, from low speed data to large image files and streaming video and digital voice, will be explored.

Individual: Initial Project Assessment Instructions: Considering the locations, employees, and the consulting nature of this company, prepare a 1- to 2-page paper explaining how CloudCrushers operates, the types of connectivity required to support the business, and the cost assessment related to potential network architecture decisions. Your paper should include the following:
• Modes of network connectivity - determine which modes of network connectivity would best meet the company's needs. Consider LAN, WAN, and wireless requirements. • Cost Analysis - assess the costs associated with implementing the selected modes. This cost analysis will be used in developing a network architecture model through the remainder of the project. Break these cost estimates down by hardware, software, and Telco services for WAN requirements. Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines. Learning Team: Local Area Network and Wide Area Network Performance Evaluation Instructions: Review the "CloudCrushers Business Scenario" to understand the various components needed to ensure connectivity. Prepare a 1.5- to 2-page paper describing these components, as well as how the types of connectivity, such as Ethernet or wireless, affect the network's reliability. Develop a 2- to 3-page paper, or a 10- to 12-slide PowerPoint® presentation with speaker notes along with a 1-page executive summary. Cover the following:
• Identify the event and the issues surrounding the security breach • Explain how it impacted the organization, and describe, in detail, what the organization did to address the breach • How was this event tied to network security?
